Study 2 of 13 on Proverbs

Scriptural Basis: 1 Kings 3:9; Proverbs 4; 5; 6:1–19; Matt. 13:44; 1 Cor. 10:13.

Key Text: “Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil” (Prov. 4:26, 27, NKJV).

“You put your left foot in, you take your left foot out, you shake it all about…that’s often our little dance with a little sin…a little evil. As long as the right foot is solidly place on something spiritual…the rest of our body often roams like an unchained beast believing a little diversion is okay as most of our bodies are kept on the path. But there is no half-truth, there is no little sin, there is no little evil… a little bite dropped us all from truth….every touch of evil is one more step away from God. Keep your eyes on the Lord and both feet in His footsteps….there are no diversions on the map…except if we choose to put our foot in it.” –Falvo Fowler

2. In today’s world, how can there be such moral failure when people are better educated than ever?

3. Why does there seem to be so much fascination in popular culture that shows behaviors described in the list of seven things that God hates in Proverbs 6:16-19?

4. What is it about these seven things in Proverbs 6:16-19 that sets them apart from other forms of sin?

5. What can we learn from such a seemingly insignificant creature as the ant?

6. How can the church always be a community of humility and harmony?
